Introduction

Welcome to SPACEAPP – a closed-source satellite tracking application.

These terms outline the fair use and expectations while using the SPACEAPP software. Created and maintained by the SPACEAPP Team (mainly by Vo Tan Binh a.k.a Henry Vo), this application is provided for personal use under strict terms.

By downloading, running, or modifying the app, you agree to follow the principles of responsible, respectful, and non-commercial use as described below.

Use of Service

This software is distributed as a free and closed-source tool for educational, personal, or experimental purposes. Commercial redistribution or repackaging is not permitted unless explicitly approved by the original authors.

What You Agree To:

  • Use this software responsibly and only for lawful, constructive purposes.
  • This software is provided ‘as is’, without warranty of any kind. The authors disclaim all liability for damages resulting from use or inability to use the software.
  • Do not remove credits, modify authorship, or claim original ownership of the app.
  • Respect third-party services such as the N2YO API and adhere to their external usage terms.
  • Developers may request access to some required and suitable parts of the source code (see contact section). Replies are not guaranteed.

Usage Terms:

This application is free to use for personal purposes, but redistribution, reverse-engineering, copying, or publishing without credit is strictly prohibited and may be illegal.

Privacy and Data

SPACEAPP is designed as a plug-and-play local application. User data is stored only on the local device, and the author is not responsible for any loss or leak of such data.

Transparency Commitment:

  • The website uses temporary cookies solely to maintain user login/logout status during sessions. These cookies do not track personal information or usage across the web.
  • The application runs locally on your machine. No personal data is ever sent or stored externally.
  • Your API key, required for satellite data, must be obtained from N2YO and entered into the app when prompted (e.g., during new account signup). It is stored locally on your machine. Users should keep their API keys private and not share them publicly.
  • There are no trackers, cookies, or telemetry systems embedded in the application.

Respecting External Services:

While SPACEAPP itself does not process user data, it connects to public APIs (e.g., N2YO) which may have their own terms. You are responsible for understanding those services before use.

Modifications and Contributions

As a closed-source application, SPACEAPP does not permit forks or republishing. Developers may contact the author for limited cases where access to suitable code is necessary (see contact section).

What You Should Know:

  • Users may not fork, republish, or redistribute the application.
  • All credits to the original authors, especially Vo Tan Binh (Henry Vo), must be preserved in any version.
  • We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the project at any time based on system constraints, external dependency changes, or misuse.
  • Users are encouraged to review these terms periodically. Continued use constitutes acceptance of any changes.

Licensing Notice:

SPACEAPP is governed by its own terms of use, created by the SPACEAPP Team. It is not associated with MIT, GPL, or any external open-source license model. All rights remain with the original developers.
